EFFURUN/Nigeria: Nigerian Institute of Public Relations (NIPR) said it will insist on the institution of transparency, truth, and trust in societal governance.

The Chairman of the Delta State Chapter of the NIPR, Mr Godfrey Osakwe, made the position known today at the monthly clinic of the Institute, held at the Petroleum Training Institute, Effurun.

Osakwe stated: “As public relations practitioners, it is important we are involved in the daily governance of our immediate environment especially as it relates to security issues.

“We must lend our voices to help curb the breach of security that is ongoing in the country so that it should not be left alone for those elected to lead.

“That as Africans, we have cultures and value systems which we had lost to a large extent due to lustful crave for wealth and power.”

Osakwe called on members of the institute and parents to always have a check on their children and wards, saying that success in that regard would help to restore societal values that were fast eroding.

He encouraged members to be active in all NIPR activities to ensure that the institute got to the zenith.
