NIPR Commends Idris’ Leadership, Professionalism as He Turns 60

ABUJA/Nigeria: The Governing Council of the Nigerian Institute of Public Relations has congratulated the Minister of Information and National Orientation, Mohammed Idris, on his 60th birthday, describing him as a distinguished professional whose contributions continue to elevate the practice of public communication in Nigeria.

In a goodwill message issued by its President and Chairman of Council, Dr. Ike Neliaku, the institute praised Idris as a symbol of excellence and a role model for emerging practitioners, noting that his rise to the position of the nation’s spokesperson reflects years of dedication, discipline and commitment to service.

The institute said the minister has consistently upheld the ethics and standards of the public relations profession, positioning himself as a worthy ambassador of responsible communication.

According to the NIPR, Idris’ performance since assuming office has been marked by diligence, composure and a deep understanding of strategic communication, qualities it said have significantly enhanced public engagement within the administration of Bola Ahmed Tinubu.

The statement further noted that his calm disposition and professional competence have contributed to effective information management, particularly in periods requiring clarity and public trust.

“As an institute mandated to regulate public relations practice in Nigeria, we celebrate his courage, capacity and steadfast application of professional principles in the discharge of his duties, especially in challenging times,” the statement said.

The NIPR also commended the minister for remaining a shining example of ethical conduct and excellence within the profession, while expressing confidence in his continued impact on national communication.

While celebrating the milestone, the institute prayed for continued wisdom and strength for Idris as he advances his service to the nation and the profession.
