
ASABA/Nigeria: The Nigerian Institute of Public Relations (NIPR), Delta State Chapter, will honour two distinguished women, Dr. Mrs. Doris Amaka Ochei and Dr. Deaconess (Mrs.) Esther Tonlagha, in recognition of their outstanding contributions to society through their various foundations.
The recognition will take place during the Chapter’s 2026 International Women’s Day celebration, scheduled to hold on Thursday, March 12, 2026, at Hussey College, Warri, by 11:00 a.m.
According to the Chapter, the awards are in appreciation of the remarkable philanthropic interventions of the two women, whose foundations have continued to impact lives through initiatives that promote empowerment, social support and community development.
Dr. Mrs. Doris Amaka Ochei is being recognised for her humanitarian initiatives through the Dr. Doris Amaka Ochei Foundation, which has supported numerous social and community-based programmes aimed at improving the welfare of individuals and families.
Similarly, Dr. Deaconess (Mrs.) Esther Tonlagha, Founder of the Esther Matthew Tonlagha Foundation, will be specially honoured for her sustained commitment to humanitarian service and community upliftment through programmes that focus on empowerment, support for vulnerable groups and social development.
The Chairman of the NIPR Delta State Chapter said the recognition of the two philanthropists aligns with the Institute’s commitment to celebrating individuals whose work demonstrates compassion, service and dedication to societal advancement.
He noted that the International Women’s Day celebration provides a platform not only to reflect on gender inclusion and leadership, but also to highlight women whose contributions have made meaningful impact in their communities.
The event, themed “Give to Gain,” will also feature a keynote presentation by Dr. Ejayeta Jeroh, FCIHRM, Ch.HRC of Southern Delta University, Ozoro, alongside panel discussions and interactive sessions designed to strengthen professional engagement and leadership among communication professionals.
Members of the Institute, communication professionals, students and the general public are invited to participate in the celebration as the Chapter joins the global community to commemorate International Women’s Day while honouring women whose philanthropic efforts continue to transform lives.
