
ABUJA/Nigeria: The Nigerian Institute of Public Relations (NIPR) has expressed deep sorrow over the death of a renowned corporate leader and public relations icon, Adekunle Ojora, a Fellow of the Institute, who passed away at the age of 95.
In a condolence message signed by Stanley Ogadigo, Director of Public Relations, the President of the Institute, Ike Neliaku, described the late nonagenarian as an accomplished business executive and consummate professional who effectively deployed public relations as a strategic tool to build enduring legacies in corporate management.
Dr. Neliaku noted that Otunba Ojora, CON, fnipr, demonstrated uncommon zeal and unwavering commitment to the advancement of the public relations profession, bringing honour and dignity to the field through exemplary leadership and practice.
“Our Distinguished Elder, Otunba Adekunle Ojora, demonstrated uncommon zeal and commitment to bringing honour and dignity to our noble profession—public relations—deploying strategic communication tools to achieve growth and transformation in leading international brands such as United African Company (UAC), AGIP Nigeria Limited and others. His contributions indeed reshaped private sector administration in Nigeria,” the statement read.
The NIPR President further said that the late Fellow’s depth of wisdom, professional excellence and administrative acumen would be greatly missed, describing him as a mentor whose influence spanned generations of practitioners and corporate leaders.
He urged members of the Institute, the business community and all those affected by the loss to take solace in the enduring impact of Otunba Ojora’s leadership, mentorship and service, stressing that his legacy would continue to inspire the practice of public relations and corporate governance in Nigeria.
The Institute extended its heartfelt condolences to the Ojora family and prayed that they find comfort in the remarkable life and contributions of the departed elder statesman.
