OGWASHI UKU/Nigeria: The Executive Assistant to the Delta State Governor on Religion Affairs, and the National Coordinator Concern Gospel Ministers for National Development ( CGMND ), Bishop. Greatman Nmalagu, has advanced the reasons why Deltans should support Governor Ifeanyi Okowa, for a second term in office.
Bishop Nmalagu spoke at a church service to round off one month fasting and prayer for the prosperity of Delta state and for the governor, Senator Ifeanyi Okowa and his family, organised by the Pentecostal Fellowship of Nigeria ( PFN ) and the Concern Gospel Ministers for National Development ( CGMND ), Aniocha South LGA Chapters.
He said the Chief James Ibori and Dr. Emmanuel Uduaghan from Delta Central and Delta South senatorial districts of the state have governed the state for two years each hence the needs for Senator Ifeanyi Okowa supported by Deltans to also get a second term.
According to him; governor Okowa has performed Excellently by ensuring that development gets to all parts of the state and urged the church to mobilised their members to ensure that they are registered and obtained their voter cards.
He said voters’ card was the only power they can exercise through voting to ensure that governor Okowa is re elected to office in 2019.
He thanked the PFN and CGMND for the one month fasting and prayers for the state and especially for the governor, saying God will reward them abundantly.
The representative of the state governor, Rev. Ben Gully, the Senior Special Assistance to the Governor on Religion Affairs, thanked the church for obeying the injunctions of God by praying for those in authority.
He charged Nigerians to partner with government in its developmental strides and continuously pray to God to heal our land.
He stated that his administration was working very hard to provide prosperity for all Deltans stressing that Nigerians need to be educated on the state of the economy to enable them understand the situation of things in the nation and support government for improved economy.
According to him ” Nigerians do not understand where we are as a country, until we begin to realize that there is famine in the land and our role as Christians is to pray for the healing of the land”, adding ” l sympathize with us because there is pain in every family, the recession is affecting all even at the state level, we should pray for God to heal our land.”
“As a state we are doing our best to impact positively on the lives of Deltans despite the fact that our resources have dropped drastically, it is not an easy path that government is passing through but we need your support to successfully accomplish our vision of prosperity for all Deltans.”
