NNPC Ogunu Golf Resort Honors Delta State Governor with Victory Kitty Following Supreme Court Triumph
WARRI/Nigeria: In a gesture of celebration and appreciation, the NNPC Ogunu Golf Resort in Warri bestowed a victory kitty upon Delta State Governor, Rt. Hon. Sheriff Oborevwori, in recognition of his recent triumph at the Supreme Court.
The tournament, held at the Ogunu Golf Resort on Saturday, showcased an array of dignitaries, including Chief Vincent Oyibode, representing the Governor; Hon. Austin Uroye, representing the Speaker; Chief Solomon Ogba, former President of the Athletics Federation of Nigeria; Chief Chris Odiete, Captain of the Golf Club; and Chief Moses Odibo, among others.
Governor Oborevwori, represented by Chief Vincent Oyibode, expressed gratitude to the Ogunu Golf Resort for the honor and acknowledged the support received during his election. He spoke optimistically about the massive infrastructural development planned for the oil city and the rest of the state.
“I feel so elated because it shows that Deltans are happy that their mandates have been defended and affirmed by the courts of the land,” Governor Oborevwori remarked. “This shows that Deltans voted for me, and the celebration in every quarter is a pointer to the fact that I am the choice of the people.”
Addressing the development in Warri, the Governor emphasized his commitment to turning the city around and highlighted the ongoing infrastructure projects. He sought the support and cooperation of the Warri community for his ambitious agenda.
The Chairman of the occasion, Rt. Hon. Emomotimi Guwor, represented by Hon. Austin Uroye, commended the Ogunu Golf Resort for honoring Governor Oborevwori and pledged the support of the State House of Assembly for sports development.
Captain of the Ogunu Golf Resort Warri, Chief Chris Odiete, praised the Governor’s accomplishments and suggested a major golf tournament, the “Warri Open Golf Tournament,” to further showcase the city and attract investment.
Chief Moses Odibo, Chairman of the Planning Committee of the Ogunu Golf Resort Victory Kitty, emphasized the celebration of the Governor’s victory over political hurdles, urging him to continue the positive momentum for the benefit of Warri and Delta State.
The event underscored the convergence of sports and governance, with Governor Oborevwori expressing gratitude for the recognition and emphasizing his commitment to the development and prosperity of Warri and its environs.
