AWKA/Nigeria: Anambra State Governor’s wife, Dr Nonye Soludo, has called on young girls to pursue their ambitions with confidence, citing the international pageant success of Miss Iruoma Osele as an example of what determination and self-belief can achieve.
Soludo gave the message while congratulating Osele, from Isuofia in Aguata Local Government Area, on winning the Miss Continental World 2026 crown in Thailand.
The Anambra-born beauty queen also received three additional honours at the competition: Queen of Africa, Best Physique and Best National Costume.
In her congratulatory message on Sunday, the governor’s wife described Osele’s performance as a source of pride for Anambra State and Nigeria, saying it highlighted the ability of women to excel on the international stage.
She expressed hope that the achievement would encourage more girls to pursue their goals, overcome barriers and remain confident in their abilities, regardless of the challenges they encounter.
Soludo said Osele had brought recognition to Anambra through her performance, adding that the state had reason to celebrate her accomplishment.
“May your victory inspire more girls to dream boldly, break barriers and reach for the highest heights, knowing that no dream is too big and no destination is beyond their reach,” she said.
She concluded her message by congratulating the beauty queen on the international recognition.
