ASABA/Nigeria: The National Population Commission (NPC) has sought the support and assistance in the upgrading of Enumeration Area Demarcation (EAD) exercise in Udu, Warri South, Isoko North and Ukwuani Local Government areas from Governor Ifeanyi Okowa.
This was contained in a letter to Governor Okowa
While appreciating Governor Okowa for his support and assistance in the previous phases of the exercise in the state, the National Chairman of NPC stated that the commission was counting on Governor Okowa in ensuring that the upgrading of the exercise was one 100 percent successful in the selected local government areas.
The areas of support and assistance needed by the commission included sensitisation and mobilisation of the populace, security and safety of NPC personnel and materials, augmentation and support for NPC field officials and accommodation, among others.
Kwarra had earlier explained that the upgrading of the EAD exercise was necessary to bring NPC maps up to date with current realities ” from the time of demarcation 3 – 5 years ago, using EAD pad application and update methodology to recapture and analyst the rate of change of EA buildings density and houses, household numbers and other physical changes on ground.”
He assured that NPC functionaries for the exercise were properly kitted and trained on measures aimed at curbing the spread of the dreaded Covid-19 virus.
