NUC Grants Full Accreditation to Novena University’s Nursing Programme

OGUME/Nigeria: The National Universities Commission (NUC) has been accredited with the Bachelor of Nursing Science Programme at Novena University, Ogume. This full accreditation status, a significant milestone, was communicated to the university in a letter dated June 6, 2024, signed by Engr. Abraham Chundusu, Director of Accreditation, on behalf of the NUC’s Executive Secretary.

The accreditation followed a successful evaluation by the NUC, underscoring the high standards of facilities, qualified faculty, and the overall quality of Novena University’s Nursing Science Programme. Vice-Chancellor Professor Godwin Nduka praised the dedication and excellent performance of the team that achieved this accreditation, highlighting the contributions of the Nursing Department and the College of Medical and Health Sciences, led by Provost Professor Ofili Charles.

This achievement mirrors the recent accreditation of Novena University’s Medicine Programme by the Medical and Dental Council of Nigeria (MDCN). Dr. Nnaemeka Nwakamma, Director of Education at MDCN, lauded the university for its excellent performance during the accreditation process, confirming the institution’s readiness to deliver top-tier medical education.

Pro-Chancellor and Chairman of the Governing Council, Chuks Ochonogor, reaffirmed the university’s commitment to providing high-quality education and training to equip the youth for meaningful employment, contributing to national development.
