ASABA/Nigeria: The Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ), Delta State Council, has congratulated Sir Dennis Otu and Sir Joseph Oromonokpaye on their admission into the prestigious Knights of Saint Mulumba.
The colourful investiture ceremony took place in Uromi, Edo State, where both media aides were admitted as First Degree Knights alongside their spouses into the respected Catholic order.
Sir Otu and Sir Oromonokpaye currently serve as Senior Special Assistants to the Governor of Delta State on Media and are regarded as distinguished members of the journalism profession in the state.
In a congratulatory message jointly signed by the NUJ Delta State Council Chairman, Comrade Churchill Oyowe, and Acting Secretary, Comrade Josephine Omodior, the union described their elevation as a reflection of proven integrity, spiritual devotion and a sustained commitment to service within the Church and society.
The council noted that the Knights of Saint Mulumba is widely respected for its promotion of charity, discipline, unity and unwavering loyalty to Catholic doctrine, adding that membership of the Order demands moral excellence, humanitarian service and courageous defence of faith and justice.
According to the NUJ, the honour places greater responsibility on the new Knights as role models in governance, community leadership and Christian living, particularly in their roles as public communicators.
“We are confident that this new status will further strengthen their commitment to truth, fairness and compassionate public service,” the statement read.
The council prayed for divine wisdom, grace and strength for the newly inducted Knights as they embark on what it described as a noble spiritual and service journey.
The NUJ Delta State Council congratulated Sir Dennis Otu and Sir Joseph Oromonokpaye and extended warm wishes to their families on the milestone achievement.
