WARRI/Nigeria: Chairman of Warri South Local Government Council, Dr Michael Tidi, has barred non – staff of the council from the council secretariat, during the branch election of Nigeria Union of Local Government Employees, NULGE, slated for Monday March 2.
The chairman, who handed down the ban during a security meeting held at the Warri South Council Secretariat yesterday, advised those vying for various elective positions in the union election to go about their campaigns and other electoral activities peacefully.
Dr Tidi stressed that staff in the council should see themselves as one irrespective of their difference in opinion as it relates to the NULGE election, saying the task of providing good governance to people of Warri South Local Government Area, is the responsibility of both management and staff of the council.
He advised the contestants to ensure that their campaigns were issue based.
