ASABA/Nigeria: A Delta North Senatorial aspirant, Prince Ned Nwoko, has hailed the victory of Dr. Ifeanyi Arthur Okowa to run for a second term as he appealed to the delegates to the Peoples Democratic Party to trust with their vote to represent the zone in the Senate.
Prince Ned Nwoko who spoke in Asaba, Delta state capital where he voted to support Dr. Ifeanyi Okowa’s second term bid, faces the Delta North Senatorial District primary election today.
He appealed to the 1, 500 strong delegates to support his ambition to go to the Senate
Prince Ned Nwoko said “Delta North needs to develop its abundant capacity to raise the Internally Generated Revenue (IGR), status of the state.
He said: “our own Governor Okowa has risen from just being a Governor to being the Governors Governor because of his sincerity. He needs someone without baggages to be alongside with him especially as it affects the Senate which is exactly what I represent. Vote for me and I wouldn’t disappoint you.”
Prince Ned Nwoko received overwhelming encomiums from delegates as he moved round Cenotaph venue of the convention ground greeting the delegates.
Of note were delegates from Ndokwa and Ukwuani who gave him a standing ovation, chanting “Ned Nwoko na him we know, na him we go follow”. Various youth groups were not equally left out as they chant cheery songs round about the Prince of Anioma nation, affirming their endorsement and loyalty to the man who has won the heart of all and sundry.
Prince Ned Nwoko promised to change the paradigm in leadership and representation.
According to him: ” We in PDP are committed to writing right the wrongs of the past. We want to prove to the world that we have leaders who are capable of leading and delivering on our mandate.”
As part of that resolve to resonate that inherent leadership capacities that the people are once again yearning for, is by having a free, fair and credible primary processes and elections.
He said: ” Dr. Okowa, has promised transparent primary elections; and we cannot fault him so far, based on his positive actions.
We are ready to take the PDP Delta North senatorial ticket, because I know I am the choice of my Anioma people because I know I possess the capacity to deliver on their mandate. The people are trusting me based on my impeccable track records”, he affirmed.
