
ASABA/Nigeria: Senator Ned Nwoko has paid a condolence visit to the family of the late Senator Peter Nwaoboshi, describing the deceased as a distinguished leader, courageous patriot and accomplished statesman whose contributions to public service would be long remembered.
Speaking during the visit, Nwoko, who said he was speaking on behalf of the Anioma people, expressed deep sorrow over the passing of the former lawmaker, noting that his death was a profound loss not only to his immediate family but also to Delta State and the nation. He described Nwaoboshi as a “true Dike,” whose life was marked by integrity, strength of character and unwavering commitment to the development of his people.
The senator recalled the political career of the late Nwaoboshi, saying he was a leader who stood firmly for justice, fairness and progress. According to him, the former senator distinguished himself through selfless service and dedication to the welfare of his constituents, leaving behind a legacy worthy of emulation by the present and future generations.
Addressing members of the bereaved family, Nwoko stated that he had no involvement whatsoever in the challenges faced by the late senator before his death. He disclosed that he had hoped to meet personally with Nwaoboshi and had earlier sent messages expressing his desire for dialogue and reconciliation, stressing that his intention had always been to promote harmony and cooperation in the interest of Anioma land and the wider Delta North Senatorial District.
Nwoko offered heartfelt condolences to the family, friends and associates of the late lawmaker, praying that God would grant them strength and comfort to bear the loss. He also prayed for the peaceful repose of Nwaoboshi’s soul, expressing confidence that his good deeds and years of service would continue to speak for him.
In response, members of the Nwaoboshi family thanked Senator Nwoko for the visit and his kind words, describing the gesture as a show of solidarity that brought encouragement in their moment of grief. The visit ended with prayers and assurances, as Nwoko reaffirmed his commitment to upholding the values of unity, progress and service which the late Senator Peter Nwaoboshi stood for throughout his lifetime.
