IDUMUJE-GBOKO/Nigeria: In a major push to strengthen the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Delta North, Ward Chairmen from the district, led by Ossai Jude Ossa of Ika North East, on Wednesday met with the Senator representing Delta North, Distinguished Senator Ned Munir Nwoko, in what was described as a strategic consolidation session.
The meeting, which brought together Chairmen from all 98 wards in the senatorial district, provided a vital interface between the Senator’s leadership and the party’s grassroots structures. The engagement was marked by optimism and a shared resolve to reinforce APC’s presence across local communities.
Deliberations focused on repositioning the party’s organisational framework, improving internal coordination, and aligning Senator Nwoko’s legislative and developmental initiatives with the mobilisation responsibilities of the ward structures. Participants unanimously agreed that the party’s future strength depends on a vibrant, well-coordinated network that begins at the ward level.
In his address, Senator Nwoko commended the Ward Chairmen for their loyalty and resilience, describing the ward as the lifeline of political engagement and the first point of contact between the electorate and governance. He stressed that no party can remain competitive without consistent investment in its grassroots leadership.
Nwoko highlighted that his development agenda for Delta North—covering infrastructure, education, youth empowerment and community renewal—requires strong support from ward leaders who can engage communities and articulate their needs. He urged them to remain united and strategic in mobilising support for the APC and advancing the district’s collective interests.
The Senator assured that the interaction would not be a one-off meeting but the beginning of sustained consultations to reposition the party for future electoral victories. In their response, the ward leaders applauded his inclusive leadership style and pledged their continued support, promising to intensify grassroots mobilisation efforts.
The session ended with renewed confidence that Delta North is entering a phase of strategic organisation, political cohesion and unity, driven by stronger collaboration between Senator Nwoko and APC ward-level leadership.
