Nzete Charges Residents To Keep Their Environment Clean In Ndokwa West

KWALE/Nigeria: Residents in Ndokwa West Local Government Area of Delta State have been charged to imbibe the culture of keeping their environment clean to avoid health hazards.

The Chairman of Ndokwa West Local Government Council, Hon. Obi Nzete, gave the charge at kwale during the monthly environment sanitation exercise.

The chairman, who was represented by the Supervisor for Environment in the Council. Hon. Kaso Eni, advised the people not to block their drains in order to avoid flood during rainy seasons.

Chief Nzete who was accompanied by the Secretary to the Local Government, Hon. Augustine Okom and other council’s aides assured the residents of the government’s preparedness towards environmental sustainability.

He advised the people to always participate in environmental sanitation exercises, stressing that clean environments would promote good health.

Also speaking, the Head of Environment Department in the council, Comrade Famous Olise, implored residents to cultivate good sanitary habits.

He enjoined the people to avoid indiscriminate dumping of refuse, adding that they should take such refuse to the government approved sites in the locality.

The sanitation exercise featured the evacuation of refuse with tipper-lorries in all major streets in the Kwale metropolis.
