KWALE/Nigeria: The Ndokwa West Local Government Chairman of Delta State, Hon. Godday Obi Nzete, has urged people to imbibe the culture of reading so as to be well informed and enlightened.
The Local government boss gave this advice at Kwale during the launch of a book, titled “the Supremacy of God and the Nothingness of Man”, written by Pastor Fidelis Ojugbeli.
The Chairman, who was represented at the occasion by the Secretary to the Local Government, Hon. Augustine Okof, asserted that people hardly read these days, adding that such poor reading culture could be traceable to lack of understanding of policies and actions of government at all levels in the country.
Nzete affirmed that major secrets for scientific and technological advancement are hidden in books, adding that only those who consciously devote time to reading could discover such secrets, just as he opined that growth and development were products of research which, he said, heavily depended on reading.
He commended the author of the book for successfully producing it, describing the book as an inspired collection from God.
Launching the book with N50, 000, Nzete enjoined those present at the occasion to sow on the book so that they could reap the blessings embedded in it.
The ook reviewer, Rev. Victor Emekagbon, asserted that the book gave a vivid insight into the supremacy, greatness and power of the omniscience God.
While describing the book as being expository, he stressed that if there was any foolishness of God, it was wiser than the wisdom of man, adding that after reading the book, one would come to appreciate the supremacy of God over all human problems.
On his part, the author of the book, Pastor Ojugbeli, who is also the Senior Pastor of Bethel Christian Assembly, said that he was spiritually led to write the it to reveal to humanity that God’s power is supreme over any other power man could imagined.
The clergyman stated that whatever science and technology may had created were derived from the products God Himself had made, adding that every technological breakthrough should be seen as the by-product of God’s creation.
He advised those facing persecution and oppression to be steadfast in their faith, adding that very soon, the wicked would reap the reward of wickedness.
