LAGOS/Nigeria: The Speaker of the Lagos State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Mudashiru Ajayi Obasa, has expressed strong conviction that the 2027 presidential election will be a walkover for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, as Ojokoro LCDA formally reaffirmed its support for his re-election.

Obasa made the declaration at the launch of the ‘Tinubu 2027’ initiative in Ojokoro LCDA, aimed at galvanizing grassroots backing for the president’s victory.

Speaking at the carnival-like event held at the Local Government Playing Ground, Ojokoro, Obasa commended the council area for leading the charge in mobilizing support, urging residents to match their words with action by encouraging eligible voters to obtain their Permanent Voter’s Cards (PVCs).

He also appealed for peace among leaders and members of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the area, stressing the importance of unity in building a formidable front ahead of the polls.

While expressing confidence in Tinubu’s chances, the Speaker urged political leaders, elected officials, and appointees across Ojokoro to play their parts diligently.

“The President is doing wonderfully well. Within two years, his achievements are unprecedented; we can imagine what more he will still do. Let’s play our parts by being available to our people and by drawing them closer. If we do this, I am sure the election will be a walkover for APC and President Bola Tinubu come 2027,” Obasa said.

Earlier, the coordinator of the initiative, Hon. Emmanuel Olotu, declared that the move was necessary to reaffirm Ojokoro’s status as Tinubu’s stronghold and to consolidate support for his second term.

Olotu, who represents Ifako-Ijaiye Constituency II at the Lagos State House of Assembly, said Tinubu’s unprecedented successes since assuming office in 2023 justified the initiative, noting that “indeed, a good turn deserves another.”

The lawmaker, who chairs the House Committee on Agriculture, disclosed that structures have been put in place across Ojokoro to ensure massive mobilization for Tinubu in 2027.

Highlighting Tinubu’s strides in revamping the economy and improving the lives of Nigerians, Olotu called on citizens to rally behind the president in his quest to entrench Nigeria’s position as Africa’s true giant.

In his remarks, the Olorile of Agbado, Oba Williams Adeshoga, backed the calls for Tinubu’s re-election, describing the president’s leadership as transformational. He pledged that traditional rulers and community heads across Ojokoro would complement political leaders in drumming up support.

The head of the Hausa community, Balarabe Musa; the Eze-Audi of Ndigbo in Ojokoro; and other socio-cultural leaders who mobilized their members in hundreds also echoed their support for Tinubu.

Other dignitaries present at the event included the member representing Ifako-Ijaiye Federal Constituency, Hon. Benjamin Adeyemi Olabinjo; the Council Chairman, Mrs. Oluyemisi Rosiji; the Paramount Ruler of Ifako-Ijaiye/Ojokoro Land, HRM Oba Oluwalambe Taiwo; former Lagos lawmaker, Hon. Ipoola Omisore; former Commissioner for Physical Planning, Hon. Idris Salako; former LASAA Managing Director, Barrister Mobolaji Sanusi; and former Ojokoro LCDA Chairman, Hon. Idowu Tijani.
