ASABA/Nigeria: Delta State Governor, Rt Hon Sheriff Oborevwori, emphasized the absence of candidate imposition in the forthcoming local government council elections. He underscored the role of the Delta State Independent Electoral Commission (DSIEC) in establishing a transparent election timetable.
Governor Oborevwori stated, “Only popular candidates that the people love and generally accepted by all stakeholders, will emerge as candidates of the party. We will not accept any candidate through the back door.”
Expressing gratitude for the support received, Governor Oborevwori assured, “I will not disappoint Deltans. Delta State is PDP and PDP is Delta State.”
During the meeting, a vote of confidence was passed on Governor Sheriff Oborevwori for his performance since assuming office. The motion, moved by former Secretary to the State Government, Rt. Hon. Festus Agas, highlighted the Governor’s commitment to the state’s development agenda.
Additionally, Dr. Kingsley Esiso, State Chairman of the party, emphasized the importance of continued support for the Oborevwori administration. The meeting, convened by Chairman Delta Central PDP, Chief Patrick Fovie, aimed to address pertinent issues for the party’s advancement in the district and statewide.
