ASABA/Nigeria: The Governor of Delta State, Rt. Hon. Sheriff Oborevwori, has expressed his assurance to investors regarding the peaceful investment climate in the state.
The governor conveyed this message during a courtesy visit by members of the Ndigbo Cultural Forum Asaba chapter, on Tuesday July 4, 2023, at the Government House Asaba.
The governor used the visit to express his gratitude to the forum for their support during his gubernatorial campaign and for their existing investments in the state. He encouraged them to consider further investments, emphasizing the favorable and peaceful environment prevailing across the entire state.
“I welcome you to Delta State Government House. I am very happy to receive all of you this afternoon. I am happy because you have accepted me as your own,” said Governor Oborevwori. “You worked very hard for my emergence as governor. I remember when I came for consultation prior to my election, you all supported me.”
The governor highlighted his intention to govern not just for the people of Delta State but for all residents, emphasizing the importance of fostering a sense of belonging. He assured the forum of his commitment to partnering with them and thanked them for their continued support.
“Delta state is very safe, and you can attest to the peace we are enjoying here today,” Governor Oborevwori added. “Delta state is a state that does not discriminate. We live together here, and I know that some of you gave birth to your children here in Delta, which invariably makes them citizens of Delta state. This state is accommodative, and we will make sure that we develop this state together even as we urge you all to bring more of your investments down to Delta.”
Chief Chinedu Obodo, Chairman of the Ndigbo Cultural Forum, while speaking stated that the purpose for visit was to congratulate Governor Oborevwori on his victory and successful inauguration. He praised the prevailing peace in the city and assured the governor of their continued support through significant investments across the state.
“We invested so much in the state because of the peace that pervades the city,” said Chief Obodo.
“We assure you that we would do more to support the government with massive investments across the state. We will further bring our investments to all parts of the state.”
Governor Oborevwori’s reassurances to investors and his call for increased investment highlight his commitment to fostering economic growth and development in Delta State.
