ASABA/Nigeria: Delta State Governor, Rt. Hon. Sheriff Oborevwori, on Friday, decorated his Chief Security Officer (CSO), Chief Superintendent of Police (CSP) Omoarebun Iluobe, his Aide-De-Camp (ADC), Superintendent of Police (SP) Oreoluwa Ogunwumiju, and five other officers recently promoted by the Nigeria Police Force. The ceremony took place at Government House, Asaba.
The other officers honored were SP Kenneth Iyetor, Provost; Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) Bako Ibrahim, Unit Commander, Government House; DSP Umoh Ubong, Escort Commander; DSP Anthony Okonji, OC Communication, Government House; and DSP Kalu Ibeh, Unit Commander, 51 Police Mobile Force (PMF).
Governor Oborevwori was joined at the event by his Deputy, Sir Monday Onyeme; the Commissioner of Police in Delta State, CP Abaniwonda Olufemi; and Mrs. Victoria Omoarebun, wife of the CSO.
CP Abaniwonda, in his remarks, expressed gratitude to President Bola Tinubu and Inspector-General of Police Sunday Egbetokun for approving the promotions. He emphasized that the elevation was a reward for the officers’ hard work and dedication, encouraging them to continue serving diligently.
“Promotion is a testament to hard work and dedication,” he said. “I urge the officers to remain committed to their duties and aim for further excellence in service.”
The commissioner highlighted the successes of the police in maintaining security during the recent Christmas and New Year celebrations, attributing the peaceful season to strong collaborations with communities, stakeholders, and other security agencies.
“We implemented measures that ensured a safe festive season, and we will sustain these collaborations to address pockets of security challenges in the state,” he assured.
CP Abaniwonda also commended Governor Oborevwori for his unwavering support to security agencies in Delta State, noting that the governor’s commitment aligns with the MORE Agenda for sustainable security.
Speaking on behalf of the newly promoted officers, CSP Omoarebun Iluobe expressed gratitude to God and the authorities for their elevation. He assured that the promotions would inspire greater dedication to duty.
“We are deeply grateful for this recognition, and we pledge to work harder in service to our state and country. I also encourage my colleagues to justify this promotion through exemplary performance,” he stated.
The ceremony underscored the administration’s commitment to bolstering security and recognizing excellence within the police force.
