MACAO/China: Governor Sheriff Oborevwori of Delta State on Wednesday toured the exhibition hall of the 16th International Infrastructure Investment and Construction Forum (IIICF) in Macao, China, where cutting-edge solutions in sustainable development took centre stage.
The exhibition, a key feature of the global forum, showcased advanced technologies in waste-to-energy (WTE), innovative waste management, renewable energy, and sustainable road infrastructure. Governor Oborevwori, accompanied by Delta State Commissioner for Works (Rural Roads) and Public Information, Mr. Charles Aniagwu; Technical Assistant, Engr. Bob Nakpodia; and other top dignitaries, engaged with experts and exhibitors promoting environmental innovations with strong commercial potential.
At several booths, the governor observed demonstrations of WTE plants capable of converting urban waste into clean, renewable power. He expressed admiration for the technologies on display, noting their relevance to Delta State’s environmental and energy ambitions.
“These innovations offer promising solutions to the twin challenges of waste management and clean energy generation. The success of Macao in this sector provides valuable lessons as we explore similar investments for Delta State,” Governor Oborevwori said.
His visit highlighted Delta’s growing interest in international collaboration and global best practices, especially in areas that promote environmental stewardship, economic diversification, and energy resilience.
Governor Oborevwori reaffirmed his administration’s openness to partnerships and investments that would help deliver WTE infrastructure, reduce landfill burdens, and contribute significantly to the state’s power grid.
