Oborevwori Felicitates Muslims, Calls for Unity and National Renewal at Eid

ASABA/Nigeria: Governor of Delta State, Rt. Hon. Sheriff Oborevwori, has urged Nigerians to embrace unity, tolerance and collective responsibility as Muslims celebrate Eid-el-Fitr, marking the end of the Ramadan fast.

The governor, in a goodwill message signed by his Chief Press Secretary, Sir Festus Ahon, in Asaba, congratulated Muslim faithful for their steadfastness, devotion and sacrifices throughout the holy month, describing their commitment as a reflection of the enduring spiritual values of Islam.

He noted that Ramadan embodies lessons of deep reflection, discipline, compassion and renewed faith, emphasizing that such virtues should not end with the celebration but must be sustained for the advancement of society.

Oborevwori stressed the importance of peaceful coexistence among people of diverse religious and ethnic backgrounds, noting that unity and tolerance are indispensable for national stability and progress.

He also called on Nigerians to use the occasion to pray for sustained peace, security and development of the country, adding that overcoming current socio-economic challenges requires collective effort, mutual understanding and shared responsibility.

The governor reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to inclusive governance, infrastructural development and the overall well-being of citizens, in line with the M.O.R.E Agenda, assuring that government will continue to implement policies that promote growth and prosperity across the state.

While wishing Muslims a joyous and peaceful Eid celebration, Oborevwori urged residents to celebrate responsibly and continue to support ongoing efforts to build a stronger, safer and more prosperous Delta State.
