ASABA/Nigeria: Delta State Governor, Sheriff Oborevwori, has extended warm and heartfelt felicitations to Deltans as they usher in the Year 2026, expressing profound gratitude to God for His protection, grace and sustaining presence over the state and its people throughout the past year.
In a New Year message issued by his Chief Press Secretary, Sir Festus Ahon, the governor described the season as one of renewed hope, fresh beginnings and shared responsibility, urging citizens to draw strength from the lessons of the past and face the future with optimism, courage and unity of purpose.
Oborevwori acknowledged the sacrifices, resilience and patience demonstrated by Deltans, noting that the modest but impactful gains recorded across key sectors of the state were made possible by the people’s enduring spirit, peaceful disposition and collective commitment to progress.
The governor assured that the pains, hopes and aspirations of the people remain central to his administration’s priorities, reaffirming that in 2026 the government would deepen its focus on good governance, infrastructural renewal, job creation, youth empowerment, enhanced security and inclusive economic growth in line with the MORE Agenda.
He called on residents to continue to shun violence, embrace peaceful coexistence and uphold the values of hard work, tolerance and patriotism, stressing that enduring peace remains the strongest foundation for sustainable development, prosperity and social harmony.
Oborevwori also appealed to political leaders, traditional rulers, religious leaders and community stakeholders to strengthen collaboration with the government, emphasizing that building a stronger, fairer and more prosperous Delta State must be pursued as a collective responsibility.
While wishing Deltans a peaceful, prosperous and fulfilling New Year, the governor expressed renewed confidence in the collective destiny of the state, assuring that his administration would remain steadfast in delivering people-oriented policies and projects aimed at improving the quality of life of all Deltans and firmly positioning Delta State on the path of sustainable growth, hope and shared prosperity.
