
ASABA/Nigeria: Delta State Governor, Rt. Hon. Sheriff Oborevwori, has congratulated the Ohworode of Olomu Kingdom, His Majesty Albert Akpomudje, SAN, FCIArb, Eyavwie-Alaka I, on his emergence as the 54th Chairman of the Nigerian Body of Benchers.
In a statement issued by his Chief Press Secretary, Sir Festus Ahon, the governor described the development as a proud moment for Delta State, noting that the elevation of the revered monarch and legal luminary reflects his outstanding contributions to the legal profession.
Oborevwori said the people of Delta State are delighted by the honour bestowed on the Ohworode, expressing confidence that his wealth of experience and proven leadership would further strengthen the integrity and standards of the legal system in Nigeria.
“On behalf of my family, the government and the good people of Delta State, I heartily congratulate His Majesty, Albert Akpomudje, SAN, FCIArb, Eyavwie-Alaka I, on his emergence as the 54th Chairman of the Nigerian Body of Benchers,” the governor stated.
He commended the monarch’s distinguished career at the Bar, describing his appointment as well deserved and a testament to his dedication, professionalism and commitment to justice.
Akpomudje succeeds former Chief Justice of Nigeria, Justice Olukayode Ariwoola, as Chairman of the Body of Benchers, the apex regulatory institution for the legal profession in Nigeria established under the Legal Practitioners Act.
A seasoned legal practitioner and the 14th Ohworode of Olomu Kingdom, Akpomudje was crowned on November 15, 2025. His emergence as chairman of the prestigious body has been widely regarded as a recognition of his excellence, integrity and leadership capacity within the legal community.
