Oborevwori Hails Sports Icon Solomon Ogba at 65

ASABA/Nigeria: Delta State Governor, Rt. Hon. Sheriff Oborevwori, has felicitated with the Vice President of the Nigeria Olympic Committee (NOC), Chief Solomon Ogba, on his 65th birthday anniversary, celebrated on May 1.

In a statement issued in Asaba by his Chief Press Secretary, Sir Festus Ahon, Governor Oborevwori extolled Ogba’s immense contributions to sports and politics, describing him as a transformational figure whose legacy spans decades across Delta, Nigeria, and Africa.

He praised Ogba’s tenure as Delta State Commissioner for Sports, during which the state rose to national prominence through consistent victories in the National Youth Games and National Sports Festival, setting a benchmark in sports development and innovation.

“Chief Ogba is a trailblazer whose dedication to excellence has shaped the careers of many elite athletes and leaders. His commitment to sports and public service remains worthy of emulation,” the Governor stated.

Oborevwori commended Ogba’s leadership and patriotic spirit, noting that his achievements have brought pride not just to Delta and Nigeria, but to the entire African continent.

“On behalf of my family, the government, and the good people of Delta State, I extend warm congratulations to you, Chief Solomon Omamoezi Ogba, as you mark your 65th birthday. We celebrate your life of service and impact, and we pray for God’s continued blessings, good health, and more fruitful years ahead,” the statement added.
