ASABA/Nigeria: A retired Permanent Secretary in Delta State and the Onochieze of Onicha-Ukwuani, Ogbuiji Augustine Chukwuma has described the emergence of Rt. Hon. Sheriff Oborevwori and Chief Monday Onyeme as the State Governor Elect and Deputy Governor Elect respectively as a true reflection of the will of Deltans.
Ogbuiji Chukwuma stated this in his country home of Ike-Onicha, Onicha-Ukwuani in Ndokwa West Local Government Area of the State while reacting to the outcome of the Governorship election , held on March 18, 2023.
He further described their victory as an act of God, adding that their success in the election was an affirmation that Delta State was a PDP controlled State and commended the people of Onicha-Ukwuani for their steadfastness and commitment to the PDP led administration.
While congratulating the duo of Rt. Hon. Oborevwori and Chief Onyeme as well as other PDP House of Assembly members Elect , particularly the member Elect for Ndokwa West, Hon. Charles Emetulu , the Onochieze of Onicha-Ukwuani noted that Rt. Hon. Oborevwori and Chief Onyeme were seasoned administrators with the needed capacity to transform the State.
Ogbuiji Chukwuma , who is the immediate past PS in Delta State Post Primary Education Board (PPEB) said that Oborevwori’s administration would bring more development and unity to the State through the implementation of critical policies as enshrined in manifestoes.
The former PS explained that the choice of Chief Monday Onyeme as the Deputy Governor of the State had balanced the political equation in the State to some extent and appreciated Hon. Emetulu for his numerous contributions to the development of Ndokwa West and Onicha-Ukwuani in particular.
He said that since the creation of the State, an Ukwuani/ Ndokwa man had not occupied neither the position of the Governor nor the position of the Deputy Governor in the State not until now that Deltans had elected Oborevwori and Chief Onyeme.
Ogbuiji Chukwuma reiterated his determination to always contribute meaningfully towards the socio-economic growth and development of his community and the State at large.
He stressed the need for Deltans to support the administration of Rt. Hon. Oborevwori when he eventually assumed office, come May 29 to enable him and the team that he would assemble to achieve his MORE agenda for the overall benefits of the State.
He expressed gratitude to the State Governor, Senator Dr. Ifeanyi Okowa for his unwavering support for Rt. Hon. Oborevwori to succeed him as the State Governor, saying that the Governor Elect would do everything humanity possible to bring succour to all Deltans.
