Oborevwori Pledges to Boost Food Security Through Road Infrastructure

KWALE/Nigeria: Delta State Governor, Sheriff Oborevwori, has outlined his administration’s commitment to enhancing food security in the state and the nation by investing in road infrastructure. During a weekend inspection of key projects, including the 4.42km Obi-Ibabu/Ibabu Road with a 2km drain in Onicha-Ukwuani and the 2.4km Ugolo-Okpe/Okorikpehre Road in Ndokwa West and Okpe Local Government Areas, Governor Oborevwori reiterated his dedication to improving the quality of life for Delta State residents.

Represented by the Secretary to the State Government, Dr. Kingsley Emu, Governor Oborevwori emphasized that his administration’s M.O.R.E Agenda aims to promote growth and development in the state. He acknowledged the significant progress made in road construction during the previous administration under Governor Ifeanyi Okowa, highlighting the construction of over 2,000km of roads and 1,400km of drains.

Governor Oborevwori affirmed his commitment to building on this foundation, stating, “When His Excellency, Rt. Hon. Sheriff Oborevwori said he was going to do more, it means that he was going to continue with all the projects and do many more new projects.” He emphasized the importance of inter-connecting roads to the state’s development, addressing longstanding infrastructure challenges.

The Governor noted that the Obi-Ibabu – Ibabu Road project would facilitate the transportation of agricultural products from various agrarian communities in Onicha-Ukwuani and beyond to markets. He highlighted the road’s role in advancing the state’s agrarian policy and fostering economic growth.

Governor Oborevwori expressed optimism about the future of Warri and the broader region, foreseeing increased development and improved security. He assured Deltans of continued progress and improvements in various sectors under his administration, affirming that it is “a continuation government” dedicated to enhancing existing achievements.
