
ASABA/Nigeria: Governor Sheriff Oborevwori has acknowledged the political experience and public service record of former Delta State Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Engr. Omeni Sobotie, as the Agbarho-born politician marks his birthday.
In a goodwill message issued on Sunday by the Governor’s Chief Press Secretary, Sir Festus Ahon, Oborevwori described Sobotie as a statesman and community leader whose involvement in the political affairs of Delta State and Nigeria had contributed to the development of the state’s democratic landscape.
The governor’s message focused on Sobotie’s years of political engagement and public service, highlighting what he described as his maturity, experience and contribution to political discourse.
Oborevwori said Sobotie’s political activities had earned him recognition beyond partisan boundaries, particularly through his involvement in issues relating to the political advancement and democratic development of the state.
“On behalf of my family, the government and people of Delta State, I warmly congratulate Engr. Omeni Sobotie on the occasion of his birth anniversary,” the governor said.
He said the birthday provided an opportunity for Sobotie to reflect on a life of service and the contributions he had made to Delta State and Nigeria.
“Marking this year, you have every reason to look back with gratitude to God for a life of service, sacrifice and contributions to the development of our dear state and nation,” Oborevwori said.
The governor also recognised Sobotie’s contribution to political engagement and democratic development, saying his commitment to the political advancement of the people remained worthy of commendation.
“Your commitment to the political advancement of our people and your invaluable contributions to the growth of democracy are deserving of commendation,” he added.
Sobotie, who previously led the APC in Delta State, has remained a notable figure in the state’s political space, with his career spanning party leadership and community engagement.
Oborevwori prayed for continued good health, wisdom and strength for the former APC chairman, expressing the hope that he would continue to contribute to the development of Delta State and Nigeria.
He also wished Sobotie more years of fulfilment, peace and meaningful service to humanity.
