ASABA/Nigeria: Delta State Governor, Rt. Hon. Sheriff Oborevwori, has announced the commissioning of 42 road projects across the state to commemorate the second anniversary of his administration.
In a historic State of the State address delivered at the Delta State House of Assembly in Asaba, the governor unveiled a robust list of completed and ongoing projects, including major works such as the dualisation of the Ughelli–Asaba Road, the Kwale–Beneku Bridge, and extensive rehabilitation of strategic roads across Warri, Sapele, Ughelli, and other towns.
Highlighting flagship developments like the three flyovers and slipways in Warri and Effurun expected to be completed by early 2026, Oborevwori said the projects align with his administration’s MORE Agenda, rooted in servant leadership, transparency, and infrastructure renewal.
The governor said his address was aimed at presenting a mid-term progress report and outlining plans for the remaining years of his tenure. “This is a roadmap to sustainable growth, inclusive development, and people-centered governance,” he said.
Impressed by the achievements, the Delta State House of Assembly passed a unanimous vote of confidence in Oborevwori. Deputy Speaker Rt. Hon. Arthur Akpowowo moved the motion, while lawmakers including Hon. Emeka Nwaobi and Hon. Ferguson Onwo praised the governor’s financial discipline and transformational impact on education, healthcare, and youth empowerment.
The Speaker, Rt. Hon. Emomotimi Guwor, presiding over the session, commended Oborevwori’s leadership and assured him of the legislature’s continued support in building a more prosperous Delta State.
