ASABA/Nigeria: Delta State Governor, Sheriff Oborevwori, has been lauded for his dedication to sustainable governance, which is now delivering concrete benefits across the state.
Commissioner for Works (Rural Roads) and Public Information, Mr. Charles Aniagwu, made this assertion during an interview on AIT’s “Democracy Today,” where he highlighted the administration’s strides in infrastructure, social welfare, and economic empowerment.
Aniagwu emphasized that Oborevwori’s policies, built on continuity and innovation, have significantly transformed key sectors such as education, healthcare, and job creation. He noted that the governor’s inclusive approach has ensured steady development across various communities in Delta State.
“Governor Oborevwori’s leadership is rooted in inclusivity, infrastructural development, and economic empowerment,” Aniagwu stated. “From road projects to social welfare initiatives, his commitment to long-term growth and stability is positioning Delta State for a brighter future.”
He dismissed political distractions from the opposition, stressing that the administration remains focused on delivering governance that prioritizes the people.
“We are determined to stay on track, no matter the distractions. Our focus is on governance that adds value, ensuring that the people remain at the center of decision-making,” Aniagwu said.
He also highlighted Oborevwori’s unprecedented engagement with civil servants, noting that the governor recently hosted top officials to discuss their concerns and enhance productivity.
“In a rare move, Governor Oborevwori dined with the top echelon of the civil service, listened to their concerns, and responded to issues raised earlier in the year. This private-sector approach to governance ensures efficiency and fosters a collaborative work environment,” Aniagwu added.
On the governor’s whistle-blowing policy, Aniagwu revealed that it has begun yielding results, allowing for real-time interventions in governance and project monitoring.
“The whistleblower line is managed directly by the governor. Reports sent to the line are acted upon immediately, ensuring accountability in public service. Several projects have been restructured based on reports from whistleblowers,” he said.
Aniagwu further commended the governor for executing numerous projects without resorting to borrowing, attributing the financial prudence to strategic management.
“Oborevwori has not borrowed a dime in almost two years, yet we have seen remarkable developments across the state. This is not magic; it is a result of prudent financial management that ensures maximum value for every naira received,” he stated.
The commissioner reaffirmed the administration’s commitment to governance that directly benefits the people, stressing that Delta State remains on a path of sustainable development under Oborevwori’s leadership.
