Director General of Delta State Orientation and Communications Bureau, Dr. Fred Latimore Oghenesivbe,

ASABA/Nigeria: The Director General of Delta State Orientation and Communications Bureau, Dr. Fred Latimore Oghenesivbe, has said that the State of the State address delivered by Governor Sheriff Oborevwori to the Delta State House of Assembly underscores the administration’s commitment to openness, transparency, and accountability under Nigeria’s constitutional democracy.

Dr. Oghenesivbe urged political leaders and public officeholders to emulate Governor Oborevwori’s leadership style, emphasizing that sustainable democracy depends on elected representatives being accountable to the electorate at all levels of government.

He praised Governor Oborevwori for his impactful strides in governance, which have earned him prestigious honours, including Best Governor of the Year, Best Governor in Infrastructure Development, and Best Governor in Good Governance. These awards were conferred by ThisDay Arise Media Group, Telegraph Newspapers, and Vanguard Newspapers, respectively.

Speaking with journalists in Asaba on Wednesday, Oghenesivbe stated that the governor’s two-year performance scorecard, presented before the State Assembly, covered every sector of the economy. He noted that the list of landmark projects slated for commissioning to mark Oborevwori’s second anniversary has received wide commendation from Deltans both at home and abroad.

He also lauded the Speaker of the Delta State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Emomotimi Guwor, and members of the legislature for their active legislative engagement and timely passage of key bills. Among the landmark legislations passed is the State Electricity Power Sector Law, which he said laid the legal groundwork for critical investments in the energy sector.

Oghenesivbe maintained that while the three arms of government remain constitutionally distinct, effective governance demands synergy. He praised the executive, legislature, and judiciary in Delta State for their harmonious relationship, attributing the state’s development milestones to their collective commitment to service delivery. He described Speaker Guwor as a “team player and pragmatic leader.”

He said Delta State is now a prime destination for both local and foreign investors, thanks to Governor Oborevwori’s sweeping economic reforms and socio-economic transformation initiatives that have made doing business in the state easier and more profitable.

The Bureau Chief disclosed that the state offers investor-friendly incentives, including tax holidays and reductions, as well as a favourable business environment that assures high returns on investment.

He assured that the remaining two years of Oborevwori’s first term would usher in broader investment opportunities through public-private partnerships and foreign direct investment, all of which will accelerate infrastructure development and economic growth. He said the state’s development agenda aligns with President Bola Tinubu’s Renewed Hope initiative and Governor Oborevwori’s “MORE” vision for prosperity.
