ASABA/Nigeria: Delta State Commissioner for Works (Rural Roads) and Public Information, Mr. Charles Aniagwu, has reaffirmed that Governor Sheriff Oborevwori’s MORE Agenda is making a tangible impact across all parts and sectors of the state.
Speaking on “Politics HQ” on News Central Television, which was monitored in Asaba, Aniagwu dismissed allegations by former Deputy Senate President, Senator Ovie Omo-Agege, that Delta South Senatorial District was being marginalized. He insisted that Oborevwori’s development agenda is being implemented equitably across the 25 local government areas.
“The tactics of our brother, the former Deputy President of the Senate, is to live in the past, where they try to divide the state to create an impression that one part is being neglected,” Aniagwu said. “Governor Oborevwori has erased such divides through his appointments, governance approach, and equitable distribution of projects.”
Highlighting ongoing projects in Delta South, Aniagwu pointed to the near-completion of a massive Technical College in Omadino, Warri South, which, he noted, could rival a university in infrastructure. He also mentioned the stormwater drainage project aimed at tackling flooding in Warri and Effurun, the planned N30 billion remodeling of Warri City Stadium, and the 47-kilometer Ohoror-Bomadi Road, where over 30 kilometers are being rehabilitated with new culverts.
Additionally, he listed the Aladja-Ogbe-Ijoh Road connecting the Central and South Senatorial Districts, the 12.5km Okontu-Ogulaha Road in Burutu, and the over 18km Pepiama-Kokodiagbene-Okerenkoko Road in Warri South-West as evidence of the administration’s commitment to even development.
“We have awarded and are executing key projects across Delta South,” Aniagwu asserted. “The facts are there for verification. Rather than engage in baseless criticisms, we let our work speak for us.”
