OBIARUKU/Nigeria: The President Generals of Ukwuani Communities in Delta state has been admonished to be agents of development in their areas.
This admonition was made by the Executive Director, Social Services Development on the board of the Delta State Oil Producing Areas Development Commission (DESOPADEC), Hon Ochor Chris Ochor during the meeting of the President Generals of the Communities that made up the Ukwuani Local Government Area of the state.
Hon Ochor who visited the group during their meeting recently held in Obiaruku, task members on need to help ensure that the process of effective development is enshrined in their activities.
Making reference on the recent communal crises that affected some communities in the area, he advocated that the group should be involved collectively in any action that will lead to any crises in the future in the LGA.
He advised that there should be synergy between the leadership of the body and those of the Clans Youth leaders, to effectively curtail causes of unrest.
On the general development of Ukwuani communities, he tasks the group on effective engagements with those in position, to constantly call on them on the needs of the people.
Reacting on behalf of the group, the secretary, Mr Timothy Umukoro, affirmed the mandate of the body to ensure continuous unity, peace and development in the entire Ukwuani LGA.
