UMUTU/Nigeria: Christians had again been reminded of one of their callings to serve God and humanity, which is to imbibe the spirit of giving to the development and the propagation of the word of God and the needy in the society.
The call was made during the 2017 Annual/Harvest Thanksgiving Services of Michael the Archangel, Umutu, Ukwuani Local Government Area, Delta State, by Hon Christopher Ochor Ochor, Executive Director Social Services Development, Delta State Oil Producing Areas Development Commission, DESOPADEC, who was the Chairman of the ceremony on Sunday November 19, 2017.
He said it is an act of faith that man, especially Christians need to carry out with joy and happiness always, knowing that it is God’s instruction, and it is a duty that must be carried out without expecting any payment from the receiver.
Hon Ochor reminded the people that in the process of carrying out the act of attending to humanity, and the ensuring that the word of God is spread to others, the person will face trial and criticism but they should not relent as it is a calling from God that it should be done, and his will must be done.
“You will face attack from all front, names calling, even from the ones you are doing the goods to, but remain steadfast. You must obey the word of God. It is His instruction. And it must be obeyed.” He said.
Speaking further, he called on the Church to do more in the area of moral education, as the church is the only hope for a crimeless society. He pointed out the need for the church to constantly engage parents and the young ones on moral issues, especially the dressing of their children, as it is constantly becoming embarrassing to see many, especially the girls almost naked, exposing the sacred gift of God.
“The Church has to equally help as part of its duty to the society, help cub the dressing mood of our children, especially the girl Child. Their mood of dressing is becoming worrisome; the sacred gift of God of their body is now nothing to them, as they now finds joy been naked in their dressings.”
