OBIARUKU/Nigeria: Love had been stated as the root of any successful marriage, even in the most difficult circumstances.
This was the assertion of Hon Christopher Ochor Ochor, Executive Director Social Services Development, Delta State Oil Producing Areas Development Commission, DESOPADEC, in Obiaruku over the weekend during the Marriage of Mr and Mrs Felix Ochor at the Ukwuani Local Government Registry, Obiaruku.
Hon Ochor who stood in as the father of the bridegroom in his remark, said that his experience has shown that the only sustainable element of marriage is the couples seeing love in each other every day of their lives.
Charging the groom, he said that when he wakes up in the morning and see the wife in a mood for that day, he should love her for that.
“When you wake up in the morning and see the hair of your wife rough, love her for that, if she is angry love her for that, she looks not too smart, love her for that”. He said.
He advised that though the marriage councilors often advises that couples should avoid third party in their marriages, this he said is not often right, as many a time good third parties had saved marriages.
“There must be somebody who knows the two of you very well, who can keep your secrets. To me if things are becoming difficult such a person should be consulted, but above all if you can manage yourselves even in difficult circumstances, your marriage will succeed.” He concluded.
