WARRI/Nigeria: The Peoples Democratic Party, PDP family has been congratulated for a successful National Convention, after years of crises in the party.
Congratulating the party and the chairman of the convention, Governor Ifeanyi Okowa, Hon Christopher Ochor Ochor a chieftain of the party, and an Executive Director Social Services Development, Delta State Oil Producing Areas Development Commission, DESOPADEC said that with the successful convention the party is back on track, and it is ready to carry out the work of the opposition in the country.
“I congratulate the PDP family. I congratulate our Governor, Senator Ifeanyi Okowa and his team, for organising a very transparent convention.” He said.
He said the last two and half years of the party had been painful, which was as a result of the various legal tussles, but again the court, which is the last hope of man came to the rescue, when it gave its judgement that paved way for the December 9, 2019 National Convention of the party.
Hon Ochor called on the various contestants who lost to move ahead and join hand with the newly elected leaders of the party to reposition the party to winning election in the future, as he pointed out that the 2019 election process has started with the successful convention.
“Let those who lost in the various election congratulates the winners, and join hand with the newly elected National Leadership of the party, and prepare her to winning election in the future.”
“I also have to remind the members of the party that the 2019 election process had started with this successful convention, so we have to look forward to winning the elections, and nothing else.”
The National Convention saw the election of Prince Uche Secondus , who pulled an overwhelming 2,000 votes to beat his close rival, Prof Tunde Adeniran who got 230 votes while media baron and owner of African Independent Television, Chief Raymond Dokpesi who pulled 66 votes.
