Ochor Pleads for Peace in Ndokwa As Nigeria Celebrates 61 Years of Independence

ASABA/Nigeria: As Nigeria celebrates her 61 years independence Anniversary, the Deputy Speaker, Delta State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon Ochor Christopher Ochor had called on the people of Ndokwa nation to see the celebration as a means of liberating the country from every form of issues that had been dragging the people of Nigeria, especially Ndokwa nation backward.

The Deputy Speaker, in an Independence Day message, signed by his Press Secretary, Emmanuel Enebeli on Friday, October 1, 2021, said the recent rise of violence and insecurity in the various communities in Ndokwa nation had become worrisome, as the once peaceful tribe, and its communities had become riddled with various issues, that had generated fear, and anxiety.

Making reference to the various attacks, and counter attacks in Kwale, Obiaruku and other communities, he said the people are now living in fear, even in pursuing their economic activities.

“As we celebrates this years Independence Day Anniversary, I appealed to my people from Ndokwa to see this as a means of liberating ourselves from every issues that had been a hindrance to our people.”

“We can recall that communities in our Local Governments had witnessed spates of fights and killings recently due to some differences that can always be settled as brothers, this is disturbing, and we have to find solution to end this spates of fights and killings.”

“The news coming out of our local government areas is not a cheering one. This disturbances is taking toll on lives and our economic development. I plead with all parties concerned to eschew violence, let us settle our differences with peace, no matter how difficult it may be.”

“Our twin cities of Obiaruku and kwale is worst hit. This is taken away the means of livelihood from our people. Please, let us live as one family.” He said.
