OBIARUKU/Nigeria: As the day given for eligible voters to register for the Permanent Voters Card, PVC draws to a close on Friday, August, 2018, eligible voters in Ukwuani Local Government Area, had been called to use the last days of the exercise to go and register, so they can be included in the voters register, to enable them vote during the 2019 elections.
Stating this over the weekend, former Executive Director on the board of the Delta State Oil Producing Areas Development Commission, DESOPADEC, Hon Christopher Ochor Ochor, appealed to those who are of age to vote not to miss the opportunity to vote in the next election, as taking part in any form of election will improve on the democracy index of the area.
Hon Ochor said that as those who are of age, especially supporters of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, they need to vote to achieve victory for the party at the end of the 2019 elections.
“I call on my supporters, supporters of our amiable governor, Senator Ifeanyi Okowa, and our great party, the PDP, to go get registered and be counted among the voters when the time comes.”
“The more we register, the more our voting index, and democracy development in our local government, Ukwuani will grow from strength. I therefore appeal to all our supporters to get registered before the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, expiring date for the exercise.
Hon Ochor, also reminded the electorates that they should not just register, but they should ensure the voting card, the Permanent Voters Card, PVC, is collected and kept, awaiting the days for election in 2019, as the availability of the PVC is the only way they can vote.
“It’s not just to register, but “Go register, and Collect the PVC”, as that will be your evidence of registration, and passport to vote.
“If you want to bring our party, and all the party candidates, including our working governor back in 2019, go and do this.” He concluded.
