Ochor Task Nigerians on Talent Development

Obiaruku: Nigerians has been tasked on the need to develop their talents to help in the nation’s social economic development.

The call was made recently by Hon Ochor Chris Ochor, the Executive Director, Social Services Development, on the board of the Delta State Oil Producing Areas Development Commission, (DESOPADEC), on the sideline of two events recently in Obiaruku, Ukwuani Local Government Area, during the launching of a musical Album, titled “If Man Na God”, by Capt. Dennis Abamba, and the Opening of the 2nd Edition of the Ukwuani Social Improvement League (USIL),  annual competition, “Mini Olympic” organized by Mr Chidi Uwabufo.img-20161206-wa0010

Hon Ochor, who was represented by the immediate Vice Chairman of the Ukwuani LGA, Mr Gabriel Uti, said that talent development in the country is vital and it will promote development of the Nigerian society, especially in personal and national economic level of the country, in the area of job provisions for the teeming populations of Nigeria.img-20161206-wa0012

While appreciating the duo of Messer’s Dennis Abamba, and Mr Chidi Uwabufo, for using their talents as means of livelihood, he called on other Nigerians especially the youths to tap into their God giving power of talent, to add value to the Nigerian state.

“We cannot allow our God giving talents to waste, it must be put to use, for the benefit of mankind, especially the Nigerian state”. He said.

While calling for the developments of individual talents, he said such development will not take place if there is no external encouragement, and the necessary structure for the encouragement of those that are ready and willing to develop what they have as talents, which he said can only be from rich individuals, corporate bodies, and the various levels of government in the country.img-20161206-wa0011

“People, corporate organizations and governments at all level should encourage those that are ready to develop their talents, by either through training, provisions of money and materials and development of infrastructures at different locations of the country”. He said.

Hon Ochor, said that while it is necessary for both government at all level to work together, the areas for physical development for sports, music and other forms of talents, should be more of privately driven, especially as the government makes the enabling laws for national development.

“The private sectors have to be highly involved in talent development in the country. The various governments through their departments and agencies ensure the necessary laws are made to encourage private participation in the development of the country. So the private investors should key into the enabling laws in the country, to ensure the contributions of those that have talents are used to develop the nation’s economy”.
