Ochor Tasks Ndokwa Hostcom, Ukwuani Youths on Peace

The Host Communities of oil bearing activities in Ndokwa ethnic nationality of Delta state has been called to continue their support for the Okowa’s government especially in the area of peace building, in order for their communities to experience fast economic and physical development.
The call was made by the Executive Director, Social Services, in the board of the Delta State Oil Producing Areas Development Commission, (DESOPADEC), Hon Ochor Chris Ochor, on Saturday 23, October, 2015 during a meeting with the EXCO members of HOSTCOM, at Piccoc Hotel, Kwale, Ndokwa West LGA.
Speaking during the meeting, Hon Ochor told the Host Communities that one of the agenda’s of the present administration is to ensure that there is peace in the state, and as such, the people of Ndokwa cannot afford to be standby’s in the efforts of peace building, must especially when it is well known that lack of peace breads underdevelopment.
He therefore called on Hostcom to promote peace within their various communities, because it is only when there is peace, investors will come, and the once that are already in the area will be able to work effectively which will attract more physical and economic development to the Ndokwa nation.
“We must ensure there is peace in our communities, because when there is peace, our communities will witness faster economic, social and physical development”. He said.
Hon Ochor also stated that in order to meet up with the yearnings and demands of the oil bearing communities, the new board meets on weekly bases to examine reports from the management to the board, where issues are examined critically, without bias or ethnic coloration, to ensure the commission meets up with the task of having a better and productive DESOPADEC.
He therefore called on the communities to remain patient, because the board had keyed into the SMART agenda of the present government, with the main purpose of achieving the Prosperity for All Deltans”, as promised by Dr Ifeanyi Okowa to the people of Delta state, as such the people within the area will soon witness the rejuvenation of the commission.
In another development, Hon Ochor had called on the youths in Ukwuani LGA to eschew violent, and ensure there is peace and harmony among the youths in the area.
He made the statement when the youth leaders in the area paid him a courtesy call to felicitate with him on his appointment as Executive Director in the board of DESOPADEC, at his country home, in Umutu, on Saturday, 23 October, 2015.
According to him, they should be vanguards of peaceful co-existence in their various communities, because if their activities are anti-peace, the LGA will not witness reasonable physical, economic or social development.
“So you must eschew violence, as peaceful co-existence should be your watch word to attract reasonable physical, economic or social development.” He concluded.
