Ogwashi-Uku Youths Urged to Bolster Vigilance and Security Efforts

OGWASHI-UKU/Nigeria: The President-General of the Ogwashi-Uku Youth Development Association (OYDA), Comrade Stanley Chiedu, has called on residents of Ogwashi-Uku to remain vigilant and actively contribute to addressing the community’s security challenges.

Comrade Chiedu appealed this during the Ogwashi-Uku Youth Peace and Security General Assembly meeting held in the town, the headquarters of Aniocha South Local Government Area, Delta State.

Expressing concern over the community’s security issues, the youth leader emphasized the need for concerted efforts and collaboration between security agencies and the Ogwashi-Uku leadership to curb the rising challenges.

The meeting, which brought together heads of various security agencies in the locality, concluded with the formation of a seven-member Ogwashi-Uku Youth Security Management Committee, tasked with enhancing community policing. The committee, chaired by Comrade Michael Utulu, was directed to implement quarter-to-quarter vigilante operations to strengthen local security efforts.

The heads of security agencies stressed the importance of community involvement in combating crime, highlighting the need for timely information sharing, logistical support, financial backing, and youth participation to ensure the success of community policing initiatives.

Comrade Chiedu urged all quarters within the community to immediately commence vigilante operations, reiterating the association’s commitment to fostering peace and security in Ogwashi-Uku. The initiative aims to unite the community and security stakeholders in building a safer environment for all residents.
