Okolocha Commends PPL, Asked to Do More

The Operators of the Egboma Marginal Field, the Platform Petroleum Limited, PPL, and her Joint partner, Newcross Petroleum Limited, has been commended by the chairman of the oil and gas Committee of Umuosele/Umueziogoli community, Mr Sunday Okolocha.
The call was made recently during an interactive forum organised by the joint partner operators in Obinomba, Ukwuani LGA, where the communities were informed the operational challenges they were facing.
Mr Okolocha in his speech, appraised the managerial activities of the company especially in the recent signing of the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU), which according to him “upgraded the financial benefits of the Host Communities, the prompt payment of the traditional rulers, the prompt payment of the first instalment of the MoU, and the good relationship between the company and the host Communities as a result of leadership of the community relation Team, supports for the vigilantes and the maintaining a free oil spillage working environment”, he concluded.
However, Mr Okolocha has called on the company to do more as he called for the engagement of the people of the communities to work in the company, continuation of the free medical services by the company to the communities, extension of micro finance benefits to the women of the Host Communities and petty traders, the company should in his word, be “Neighbour of Choice by establishing a legacy trust”
