The Donated Bus to UFU
The Commissioner representing Ndokwa Nation in the board of DESOPADEC Sir Kenny Okolugbo has called on élite groups and associations in Delta to extend same support given to the administration of Dr Emmanuel Eweta Uduaghan to also that of Dr Ifeanyi Okowa. He made this call when he donated on behalf of DESOPADEC a brand new Hiace Toyota bus 2015 Model to the Ukwuani foundation Union a group that has been in existence since 1937 promoting the cause of the Ukwuani people. He said that even at the Twilight of this administration the Governor is still extending his Human capital development programme alluding to the fact that he has given out over twenty vehicles in his 30 months of stewardship he charged the group to see the bus donation as a vehicle to boost their continuous propagation of developmental projects in Ndokwa nation saying more donations are coming. He agreed with the President of the UFU that the quantum sharing pattern of the commission need to be subjected to a review as Ndokwa Nation deserves more than 9% but appealed for calmness in the pursuit of this project. Government is a continuum and we pray for the incoming administration to surpass our achievement.
The DESOPADEC HOUSE (Glass House) Obiaruku, to be commissioned soon.
Speaking further Okolugbo lamented the if not the small percentage accruing to his mandate area ” so much more could have been achieved if not for the constraints in funding due to the issue of quantum sharing. In Ndokwa for example companies which today are producing and exporting from its marginal fields where not captured lately for example Energia, Sterling Global, Platform Petroleum, Pillar, Midwestern etc. The indices which can only be ascertained accurately by the Department of Petroleum Resources can only come into force when the executive interface which the Legislatives who actually are the only body that can change or amend the DESOPADEC Bill to reflect a change in quantum sharing amongst the major five ethnic Nationalities who are producing oil for now in commercial quantities and thus allowing Delta State to get 13% today from the federation account. A couple of projects are to be commissioned in this last days of the Government of Dr Emmanuel Uduaghan this includes the first glass house in Obiaruku also built by the Commission, which has an event centre, multipurpose hall, computer theatre, library, restaurant, offices, rooms, research centre.
Hon Okolugbo charged d good people of Delta not to draw conclusion easily about the present happenings in the commission but should have an informed unbiased analysis of where the commission was before now and where it is presently.
