Okowa Advises Religious Leaders as Delta Muslim Pilgrims Depart

OkowaAsaba: Muslim and Christian leaders in Delta State have been urged to continue to work in love and exercise restraint and maturity in their activities and messages to believers.

The state governor, Senator Dr. Ifeanyi Okowa, gave this advice in Asaba recently at the departure ceremony for 90 Muslim pilgrims from Delta State for the 2016 hajj.

Dr. Okowa, who was represented by his Chief of Staff, Hon. Tam Brisibe, stressed that this is the hallmark of religious tolerance, peaceful and harmonious co-existence.

The governor warned any potential absconder or any one with criminal mind to reconsider his or her step as the state government will not hesitate to bring down the full weight of the law, no matter who is involved.

He reminded them that the Saudi Arabia security authorities are no respecters of persons advising them to submit themselves to their instructions.

Dr. Okowa admonished the pilgrims to use this rare privilege to make friends and avoid quarrelling among themselves, just as he commended all involved in the process for a job well done.
