ASABA/Nigeria: Officers and participants from the Nigerian Army College of Logistics (NACOL), Lagos have been charged to put to good use all they have gathered from their study tour across the state as it will help them discharge their duties optimally and effectively.
The Governor of Delta State, Dr Ifeanyi Okowa, gave this charge at a dinner party/command performance hosted for the participants of the study tour at the Unity Hall, Government House, Asaba to end their tour to the state.
The governor, represented by the Secretary to the Delta State Government (SSG) Mr Chiedu Ebie, noted that the visit of the participants to the state was a testament of the strong synergy that existed between the state and the security agencies.
“The State had played host to two study tours in less than a year, the first that of the National Defence College, Abuja and this very one.
“For us here in Delta State, we are indeed gladdened that we can partner with the security agencies and the military especially in these times when there are a lot of security challenges across the country,” the governor said.
Okowa equally stated that the unity that existed among the security agencies in the state had helped in promoting peace building and the fight against criminal elements even as he pledged to continue to invest resources in the security sector for the overall development of the state.
The Commandant and Leader of the Team, Major General Martins Enendo, stated that the visit to Delta State had exposed them to a lot of opportunities that would help strengthen logistic support for military operations.
He noted that their training was never complete until they were able to go around the local environments in which they were either operating or likely to operate in the future.
He mentioned that the visit involved a mix of civil and military establishments while appreciating the Delta State Government for accepting to host the team with a well laid out plan for the tour.
