OKPANAM/Nigeria: A Councillorship candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Okpanam , Oshimili North Local Government Area of Delta State, Comrade Jeffery Sunday Mordi, has described the State Governor, Senator (Dr) Ifeanyi Okowa as a political stabiliser and a visionary leader.
Comrade Mordi, popularly known as Olaola, who made the description in Okpanam in an interview with journalists shortly after a mega rally of the PDP for the Local Government Council elections, said that the Governor had recorded several giant strides in the community.
While commending the Commissioner for Basic and Secondary Education, Mr. Patrick Ukah, for his inspiring roles towards the growth and development of Okpanam community, Comrade Jeffery Mordi said that under the present administration team community had continued to benefit from multiplicity of road networks.
He described the rally as a day of reckoning and applauded his people for finding him worthy to represent them as their councilor, adding that they should vote for him and other PDP candidates in the forthcoming election.
Comrade Mordor pledged not to compromise the expectations of his people from him in terms of development and empowerment initiative.
Earlier, a former Chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the area who defected to the PDP during the rally , Hon. Ike Nwabuokwu, said that the decision to defect to PDP was driven by the tremendous achievements of the Okowa administration in the area of road construction, just as he recalled that the road near his father’s house had been constructed.
Hon. Ike Nwabuokwu, who was received during the PDP rally by the Delta North Chairman of the party, Hon. Moses Iduh , Oshimili North PDP Chairman, Chief Nduka Ogwuda, and other stakeholders as well as the party faithful, said that he had come back to his family and described Comrade Jeffery Mordi as a good choice for councillorship considering his numerous antecedents in the growth of the area.
