WARRI/Nigeria: Delta State Governor Sen. Dr Ifeany Okowa has urged Christians to come in the affairs of government that Christianity and Government are two entities of God.
Gov. Okowa stated this during his keynote address at the Zion Ark of Convention International Bible Church 10th year Anniversary /Dedication of Ultra Modern Church Auditorium and Book Launch in Warri last Sunday.
The Delta State Governor who was represented by his deputy, Barr. Kingsley Otuaro noted that Christians owned the world and so should take charge of governance.
While encouraging dedication and seriousness to God’s work, he stated that a Christian was not a church goer because we were all expected to come to church.
The Delta State Governor noted that Christians hold the whole world because they were guided by God’s Spirit and the progressiveness of God’s revelation.
While giving his keynote address, Gov. Okowa asserted that government derives its authority from God to promote good and restrain evil.
“Government plays a role in the work of God’s kingdom on earth. Good government encourages an environment conducive for people living peaceably, whereas bad government fosters unrest and instability. Because of sin, the legitimate institution of government has, at times, been used illegitimately throughout history. However, numerous examples persist of Christians reasserting their influence and redeeming government to promote good and restrain evil”. He asserted.
