AGBOR/Nigeria: Immediate past Governor of Delta State, Senator Ifeanyi Okowa, has urged all Deltans to rally behind Governor Sheriff Oborevwori in the 2027 governorship election.
Speaking to party faithful in Ika North East Wards 3 and 4 at Boji-Boji Owa, Okowa commended Oborevwori’s leadership, describing him as a governor who has demonstrated love for all Deltans and implemented policies that are positively impacting lives across the state.
Expressing delight at the large turnout, Okowa took a swipe at some former PDP members who left the party despite the personal successes they achieved through the party’s empowerment initiatives. He warned against political deception, expressing confidence that loyal party members would stand by those truly committed to their welfare and community development.
The former governor lauded party leaders in Ika North East for initiating a monthly contributory scheme aimed at empowering grassroots members. He highlighted the distribution of ₦100,000 grants to 100 beneficiaries from the two wards as a step in the right direction.
“₦100,000 may not seem like much given the economic realities, but I have no doubt that it will support micro-businesses and encourage our farmers,” Okowa stated. “The beauty of this initiative is that it will continue monthly, ensuring that more people benefit.”
Welcoming party leaders to Owa Model Primary School, where the event was held, Ika North East PDP Chairman, Hon. Chuks Agbormah, reaffirmed the party’s commitment to mobilizing support for Governor Oborevwori’s administration.
Agbormah also received former APC members who defected to the PDP, assuring them of full integration into the party.
