OBIARUKU/Nigeria: The Delta State Governor, Senator Ifeanyi Okowa has been commended for the approval of the ongoing construction of Umuebu road in Ukwuani Local Government Area.
A frontline community leader in Ukwuani Local Government Area, Chief Clement Ifeanyi Ekpenuma and the Councillor representing Umuebu Ward 8 in the council, Hon. Lucky Ekpenuma gave the commendation at the former’s chieftaincy title ceremony held at his country home, Umuebu.
The duo described Governor Okowa as a detribalized and God sent leader who according to them, had the interest of the state at heart, adding that the road would help to bring more development to the area.
Chief Clement Ekpenuma said that his community decided to confer him with the title in recognition of his numerous contributions towards the development of his community, noting that as a teacher in Umuebu Mixed Secondary School, he had sponsored the WAEC and NECO enrolment fees for students of Umuebu extraction.
On his part, Hon. Lucky Ekpenuma, who is the younger brother to Chief Clement Ifeanyi Ekpenuma and the wife of the celebrant, Mrs. Ekpenuma described the celebrant as an uncommon community leader whose antecedents and tracked records were worthy of emulation.
Another member of the community, Chief Prince Onyenwosa, said that the conferment with chieftaincy title would encourage him to contribute more to the growth of his community.
