Olorogun Senator Felix Ovuodoroye Ibru
Governor Ifeanyi Okowa of Delta State has congratulated first Civilian Governor of Delta State, and former Senator Representing Delta Central Senatorial District, Olorogun Senator Felix Ovuodoroye Ibru on his 80th birthday.
Okowa, in a statement by his Chief Press Secretary, Charles Ehiedu Aniagwu, described Senator Ibru as a patriot and political icon who led the state in her embryonic stage.
Aniagwu said the Governor viewed birthday as a celebration of the attainment of another significant milestone in a long, very fulfilled and achievement-laden life.
He said as Senator Ibru entered the elite club of the world’s highly revered octogenarians and very special people who have made very significant and indelible contributions to their countries and humanity, Okowa joined his family, friends, associates, and fans across the world in giving thanks to God Almighty for his glorious life of service to Delta State, Nigeria and mankind at large.
He also quoted the Governor as applauding Ibru’s “life-long dedication and indefatigable commitment to serving the people of Delta State as well as the Urhobos worldwide where he served them meritoriously as Senator and as President of the Urhobo Progress Union (UPU).
The Governor assured Senator Ibru that he would always be celebrated and honoured by his proud countrymen, women and children for his unblemished service and exemplary career which had inspired others to take up a life of selfless service to humanity.
According to Aniagwu, the Governor wishes Senator Ibru a very happy 80th birthday celebration and prays that God Almighty grant him many more years of good health and strength to continue with his devotion to making the world a better place for his people and all who live in it.
